Saturday 9:00-12:00 $60 Tribal Belly Dance to a Modern Flamenco Song/The transformation of suffering into art: dance therapy In this extended workshop, dancers will learn how to find, ignite, and feed the creative fire by pulling every bad experience and every painful memory, then creatively setting the soul free.Dancers will have the opportunity apply these techniques by learning a new routine based in tribal bellydance that mixes a flamenco flavor in it. Beginning with technique (posture, hands, and arm work that will make you move like a snake!), we will proceed to build-up combinations to complete a short choreography to one of the most innovative flamenco-fusion bands in Spain. **Bring a pen and paper to write down notes, detail experiences, and expand your creative spark.
**New Workshop by Surreya** Saturday 1:00-3:00 $45 The Art of Improv Learn how to dance on the fly and break the shackles and confines of choreography. Stretch the notes, anticipate musical changes and
let your body become the instrument and story telling muse it was trained to be. After all, you’ve studied countless hours, attended dozens of workshops and
intensives, you’ve learned all the tips, tricks, layers, rhythms, combos, wombos and otherwise.Now what? Play the music with your body and absorb many of my favorite “go to” moves to incorporate into your dance while you cook up something amazing. We will also cover emergencies, like dancing to someone else’s music, dancing to live music, or what to do if you forgot your choreography. Become the song, and play it to your audience. Sunday 9:00-11:30 $50The Fire of the Spanish Gypsies: A Spanish Skirt Routine Have you ever wondered how the gitanas (Spanishgypsies) getto leave everyone speechless when they dance with their skirts? Now you have the chance to find out! In this workshop we will break down the skirt-work that, united with the arm movements, posture and expression, will build up a brand new routine designed to catch the room on fire! Bring a skirt and your best’ole’!!
Sunday 12:30-3:00 $50 Move Like A Snake In this workshop will cover all the technique details on how to create and execute the snake-like movements that make tribal fusion unique. Muscle by muscle, step by step, upper body isolation's and lots of arm and hand work will be put together in steps and combinations to mesmerize any audience. Fluidity at its best.
